How to use Trade Winds Studios Connect - for Volunteers and Managers

Note, if you register as a state party solely to register committees in your state, and the state party does not use Connect for events. Then the in-kind donation to you is $0.00

If you want to set up your state so committees in your state can use Trade Winds Studios Connect, you need to do the following.

Register your State Committee

  1. Register as a user on the site.
  2. Have Joe Zemek of Colorado Dems email me verifying that you are a legitimate administrator for your state.
  3. We will send you an email that enables you to create an organization on the site (basically do for you what you will be doing below).

You are now a state committee on Trade Winds - congratulations.

Register a County, Campaign, or Issue Committee

First, please only do this for committees that are County, Campaign, or Party Issue committees. Do not register PACs or independent organizations. This site is for the Democratic Party only.

You can go to the website and in the top left of the grid showing your organizations, click New and fill everything out yourself. But that takes time and so, what we recommend is…

  1. Tell the administrator of the committee to register on Connect.
  2. Wait for them to verify they have registered.
  3. Go to your dashboard.
  4. At the top, under Organizations you manage, find your state.
  5. In the left column click Invite. Invite a committee
  6. In the dialog that pops up, enter the email(s) of every user you wish to have create a committee in your state. Create invitations
  7. Click Submit

They will then receive an email with a link that will let them create one committee in your state. If a single individual needs to create multiple committees, you will need to go through the above steps multiple times (sorry).

They have 3 days to use that link to create a committee. After that the link they have will expire and you will need to do the above again.
